Nitriding treatment is a thermochemical process that adds nitrogen to the surface of the drill pipe screen.This surface hardening improves wear resistance, fatigue strength, and corrosion resistance without a subsequent quenching step, making it ideal for components.Base metal choice alone often isn’t enough if abrasion/erosion (when sand / high solids / high velocity)is primary failure mode,the nitrogen treatment will be very effective for the situations.
